Accessories

Comet Fans fans can be supplied, on request, with a wide range of accessories designed and selected to meet the specific requirements of each application. Each component can be defined on a case-by-case basis in accordance with customer specifications and requirements, ensuring integrated solutions that are fully compatible with all ventilation systems.

AV mounts

The antivibration supports isolate the fan from the supporting structure, reducing the transmission of mechanical vibration to the system. Essential for preserving structural integrity over the long term and for containing perceived noise levels, they are sized according to the weight and dynamic characteristics of the fan unit.

Electrical connector

Multipole electrical connectors enable a quick and secure connection between the fan and the electrical system. Designed to withstand mechanical stress and atmospheric agents, ensuring ease of intervention during maintenance.

External terminal box

The external terminal box enables the power and control wiring to be connected directly to the fan casing, simplifying installation and onboard wiring operations. Available in various configurations according to the project’s electrical specifications.

Pressure switch

The pressure switch continuously monitors the differential pressure of the airflow through the fan. Thanks to this device, abnormal conditions such as filter clogging or a drop in airflow can be detected promptly and alarm signals activated towards the onboard control system.

Speed sensor

The speed sensor (tachometric) detects the impeller’s rotational speed in real time, enabling the supervision system to verify correct fan operation and diagnose any operational anomalies. A key component for applications with monitoring and predictive maintenance requirements.

Vibration transmitters

Vibration transmitters allow continuous monitoring of the fan’s condition, detecting anomalies related to imbalance, bearing wear or misalignment in real time. Installed directly on the fan structure in place of conventional support feet, they turn the system into a solution ready for predictive maintenance, reducing the risk of sudden downtime and extending the machine’s service life.

The range is completed by a series of additional components, available on request and configurable according to the project:

  • Protective guards: Protect the impeller from foreign objects and ensure operator safety during maintenance
  • Inspection hatches: Allow quick access to the inside of the duct or enclosure for inspection and cleaning operations
  • Flexible joints: Compensate for thermal expansion and reduce the transmission of vibration between the fan and the ductwork
  • Silencers: Attenuate the aerodynamic noise generated by the airflow, helping to meet the noise limits prescribed by rail industry regulations
  • External grease lines: Enable periodic bearing lubrication without the need to dismantle the fan, optimising in-line maintenance times
  • Support frames / Special supports: The adjustable support feet enable proper fan installation on flat or inclined surfaces
  • Mechanical and electrical safety guards
  • Air inlet cones
  • Safety cables (fall-arrest)
  • Counter-flanges
  • Shock absorbers, actuators, special fittings
