Cooling units
Comet Fans onboard cooling systems are designed to ensure thermal control of critical rail vehicle components, providing consistent performance and operational safety even under demanding conditions. Their main function is to dissipate the heat generated by traction motors, converters, transformers and braking resistors, keeping thermal parameters within optimal limits.
The available configurations are designed to adapt to different rail vehicle architectures. The systems can be installed underframe, on the roof or inside the locomotive, and include key components such as magnetic or canned pumps, high-efficiency heat exchangers, integrated fans, expansion tanks and electrical panels. Combined circuits are available for the simultaneous cooling of multiple units (e.g. converter + transformer, or resistor + converter), ensuring compactness and reduced weight. All solutions comply with the most stringent rail regulations (EN 15085, IEC 61373, EN 45545) and are designed to withstand vibration, shock and harsh environments.
