Comet Fans AFT Fan Series for Oil & Gas Applications
Comet Fans AFT series axial fans, fitted with belt drive, are designed to ensure highly efficient cooling and ventilation in the most demanding industrial applications, including the Oil & Gas, chemical and power generation sectors. Thanks to their belt-drive configuration, these fans offer exceptional operational flexibility, allowing speed and performance to be adapted to the specific requirements of each plant.
The distinctive feature of the AFT series is the adoption of MAP and AVP impellers, designed and developed by Comet. These designs, in service for over 30 years, have been continuously refined to deliver optimal aerodynamic performance, maximum energy efficiency and long-term reliability. The optimisation of the blade geometry reduces energy losses, minimises noise levels and improves the overall system efficiency.
The use of a high-quality belt drive, combined with a structure engineered to withstand extreme environmental conditions, ensures a long operating life and safe operation even in potentially explosive atmospheres, corrosive environments and high temperatures, typical of refineries, petrochemical plants and offshore platforms.
The AFT range is available in various configurations and sizes, with a wide choice of motor options, to offer the ideal solution for each specific application requirement. The blades of the MAP and AVP impellers, made from high-strength aluminium alloy, are also available in reinforced polypropylene or fibreglass, ensuring excellent corrosion protection.
The design of the supports and drive is sized by Comet according to criteria based on over 20 years of experience and hundreds of installations. For some models, the supports are entirely designed and manufactured by Comet.
The selection of AFT fans is carried out using the dedicated “Comet Fans” software, which provides clear and reliable data sheets and performance curves, complete with electrical data, noise levels and overall dimension drawings.
The choice of the best applicable solution is based on five different available blade series, with the number of blades ranging from 3 to 12: unrivalled versatility on the market.
